Report July-August 2016

July 2016

After the Project Team meeting that took place on 27 June, the activities have been carried out as planned throughout the end of the first year of the Project. In particular, the scheduled activities concerned the collection of scientific articles for the publication of the 2016 special edition of Papers di diritto europeo, the finalisation of the report on May and June activities (including the analysis of the Summer School evaluation surveys), the organisation of the internships at law firms or industries, the publication of didactic materials, drafting the report on July and August activities, drafting a new issue of the Newsletter, planning the upcoming activities for the second year of the Project, such as the revision of the Project website in order to improve the accessibility.

Isolde, Caterina and Diletta collected the articles for the publication of the 2016 special edition of Papers di diritto europeo, whose aim is allowing to further deepen the research on topics dealt with during the Summer School held from 20 to 25 June 2016, as well as to provide a wider dissemination of the Project results. Under the supervision of Prof. Maria Caterina Baruffi each essay was reviewed by the Project Team accordingly to the editing criteria of the online peer-review open access journal edited by the European Documentation Centre.

The report on May and June activities was finalised and uploaded on 7 July 2016. It contains a detailed analysis of the pre-Summer School period, a description of the course itself and a post-Summer School general assessment, including a summary of the Summer School evaluation surveys.

Isolde carefully followed the organisation of the internships at law firms or industries involved in the fashion industry as agreed during the last months.

August 2016

The two issues of the 2016 special edition of Papers di diritto europeo were published on 1 August 2016 and are available on both the Project website and the journal webpage. Each of them is structured in two parts, «Lectures» and «Workshops». The first part collects the articles drafted by the Teaching Staff Members of the Summer School, while the second one is dedicated to the brief interventions of the professionals working in the fashion industry who were in charge of the workshops organised in addition to the Summer School teaching activities. Each paper analyses selected subject matters that formed part of the programme of the course with the aim of fostering the academic value of the project.

After Diletta reviewed the didactic materials distributed to the participants during the Summer School, namely power-point presentations, in accordance with the requests and conditions approved by each Teaching Staff Member, Isolde oversaw the publication of the didactic materials on the dedicated section of the Project website.

Cinzia worked on the last report of July and August activities, summarising the realisation and dissemination of different deliverables and results of the Project. Moreover, she elaborated the final version of the time schedule on the first year activities.

Cinzia drafted the third issue of the Newsletter (No 3/2016), which contains a brief description of the Summer School outcomes, including the interview realised by Univrmagazine, highlights the publication of the 2016 special edition of Papers di diritto europeo and the didactic materials, as well as the opportunity granted to some of the participants to attend an internship at law firms or industries involved in the fashion industry. Diletta carried out the revision of the issue and Isolde uploaded it on the Project website.

Prof Maria Caterina Baruffi deemed necessary a revision of the Project website in order to improve the accessibility and to increase the visibility of the Project results. Therefore, Cinzia carefully reviewed each webpage and listed possible actions to be undertaken. These aspects were particularly highlighted: on the one hand, streamlining the homepage with the aim to focus on the presentation of the Project and its core activities (Summer School, annual Conference, scientific activities), on the other, preparing new webpages that will host the contents divided per year (2016, 2017, 2018) in order to follow the timeline of the Project. Isolde thus proceeded to a thorough update of the website, reorganising the homepage and creating new dedicated webpages for the first year of activities (namely the Summer School, the Conference, the reports, the Newsletter, the special edition of Papers di diritto europeo, the didactic materials).

Lastly, Cinzia and Diletta updated the social network accounts (Facebook and Twitter) and the latter took care of updating the Project results on the Erasmus+ participant portal.
