\"\"The Toulon-Verona Conference<\/strong><\/span><\/em> is the longest running conference without interruption on Excellence in Services<\/span>. The Conference was rebranded in 2017 in Excellence in Services International Conference<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0(EISIC<\/strong><\/span>) for its 20th<\/sup> anniversary to highlight Excellence in Services<\/strong><\/em><\/span> as the peculiar research field of the Conference.<\/p>\n

\n

The Conference was founded in 1998 by Prof. Claudio Baccarani of the University of Verona (Italy) and Prof. Michel Weill of the University of Toulon (France). It has been organized each year in a different place in Europe, and not only, in cooperation with a host university.<\/p>\n

Originally focusing on higher education institutions, the research themes have over the years been extended to the health sector, local government and public services, tourism and leisure, banking services, and logistics. Around a hundred delegates from about twenty different countries participate each year and nearly one thousand research papers have been published over the last ten years, making of the conference one of the major events in the field of quality in services.<\/p>\n

The new theme of “Quality in Management of Cultural Heritage” appeared as, like for Health Care and Local Government previously, tourism, leisure and cultural activities began to adopt quality management principles and methods.<\/p>\n

To consolidate the three main themes, the conference took on the name of “Quality in Services”.<\/p>\n

Once again the scope of the conference was widened to include local government bodies which had begun to embrace quality management principles and practices.<\/p>\n
